About David Hankey Acupuncture Cork
Hi, I’m David Hankey and I run an acupuncture clinic – David Hankey Acupuncture Cork. I have been studying and practising oriental health systems for more than 30 years.
Please note : I am not seeing patients with flu symptoms, or having recent COVID-19 contact.
I practise Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Shiatsu (Japanese acupressure), Tuina (Chinese therapeutic massage), and Reflexology. I also teach Tai Chi and Qigong in classes and on a one to one basis. These exercises are highly beneficial for maintaining optimal health.
Acupuncture is used mainly to relieve discomfort associated with a variety of diseases and conditions, including:
- Pain : pain of the back ,hip, shoulders, dental and jaw, etc.
- Headaches, including tension headaches and migraines.
- Menstrual cramps
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
It may also help with stroke rehabilitation.
In my practice, I aim to offer a professional yet nurturing environment, helping you, the patient, feel more relaxed, revitalised and positive. I provide Acupuncture and Therapeutic Massage at affordable and comparable prices – treating a wide range of medical conditions, alleviating pain and helping you manage stress and anxiety utilising a variety of treatment methods – such as massage, cupping and acupuncture, as well as offering practical advice and showing special exercises and techniques to help you get back to top condition.
A primary focus of Traditional Chinese Medicine is on prevention, rather than cure, so it is always good to have a treatment – you don’t need to have any symptoms! Acupuncture focuses on how root imbalances affect the whole body and works to stabilize these imbalances and bringing the body back into health. This can make you more aware of the many things that can influence your physical and emotional well-being. Acupuncture works well alongside Western Medicine or as a stand-alone treatment.
